Champagne Jello Shots

Champagne Jello Shots - perfect for any party, change sugar color to fit your theme.

Jacob and I hosted a little party on New Years Eve. Nothing crazy, just a few of our couple friends. It was a super night - we played Cards Against Humanity, Catch Phrase and Heads Up before toasting to 2016.

Our food was pretty simple. I served Grape Jelly Meatballs (recipe coming later this week), Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts, veggies, cheese, chips, dip and a chili cheese dip.

I wanted something a little special and knew these Champagne Jello Shots would do the trick. I had to work on New Years Eve but I still had plenty of time to clean up and make these before everyone arrived.


Plus I was left with a little extra Champagne to sip on while party prepping so that worked out.

These would be a hit for any party. Game day (using team colors) to toast a victory, girls night, bachelorette parties or a Tuesday.

Champagne Jello Shots
*Shots do need at least 2 hours to set.*

16 ounces Champagne
14 ounces lemon-lime soda (Sprite/7UP), divided
6 packets unflavored gelatin
Food coloring (optional)
Sanding sugar
Diamond Mini-Cups with Lids

Set 24-30 empty cups on a cookie sheet and set aside.

Pour Champagne and 4 ounces of the lemon-lime soda into a medium sauce pan. Sprinkle gelatin on top and let sit for at 2-3 minutes. It will foam a bit.

Turn heat to medium-low and heat until the gelatin is dissolved, stirring from time to time. Do not let the mixture boil; you're just letting the gelatin dissolve.This will take 5 minutes or more and you'll know it's dissolved when it feels smooth as you stir.

Remove pan from heat and add remaining lemon-lime soda. If adding color to fit with a party theme, do so now. Just add a few drops of food coloring and stir. Jello will be a cream color (like my photos) if you skip the food coloring.

Pour mixture into cups. (I used a turkey baster to make this easier.) If you don't have small cups you could put in a pan and cut into squares before serving. Place the jello in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until set.

Right before serving, sprinkle with colored sanding sugar. Sugar tends to dissolve over time so try not to decorate until ready to serve to keep them as pretty as possible.

Makes 24-30 Jello Shots.

    1. Hi, Jenna! I used the pre-measured Knox unflavored packets but if that is not an option, 1 pouch is about 2 1/2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin. Hope that helps!
